Location

The Hanseatic city of Rostock is located on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea and offers a fascinating blend of natural beauty, coastal activities, maritime flair and Hanseatic heritage.
The University of Rostock was founded in 1419 and is one of the oldest and most renowned universities in Germany and the oldest in Northern Europe.
Today, with over 14,000 students and nearly 3,000 employees, it offers a unique blend of tradition and innovation and provides a wide range of courses in various faculties. The university focuses on four main areas of research: Life, Light and Matter/Maritime Systems, Ageing Science and Humanities, and Knowledge-Culture-Transformation.
The university's newly established Department of Civil Engineering is part of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and addresses regional and global requirements for sustainable civil infrastructure and digital construction.
FBI 2026 will take place in the main buildings of the University of Rostock in the heart of the city, including the auditorium, the professorium and the auditorium of the Institute of Philosophy.

The university building is located at Universitätsplatz 1, 18055 Rostock.
Arriving by public transport
If you are travelling by public transport, first go to Rostock Central Station, which is centrally located. From there, tram lines 5 and 6 run every 7 minutes to the Lange Straße stop (5 stops, approx. 6 minutes' journey time). From there, walk west along Lange Straße towards Pädagogienstraße and then turn left into Pädagogienstraße. After about 3 minutes (250 m), you will reach Universitätsplatz.
Arriving by car
The fastest way to reach Universitätsplatz by car is via the A20, exit 15-Rostock-Südstadt. At the exit, turn towards Rostock onto Rostocker Straße (L132). Follow Rostocker Straße (L132) for approx. 7 km, then Nobelstraße in Rostock. At the end of Nobelstraße, turn right onto Südring. Follow the road for approximately 1.3 km. At Vögenteich, turn right onto August-Bebel-Straße. After approx. 700 m, turn left onto Hermannstraße and continue straight ahead onto Schwaansche Straße. After approx. 200 m, then turn left onto Universitätsplatz.
